Long time no blog, so here’s an extended yet condensed updat on happenings from the past month or so.
Blink 182 is back together and going on an epic tour this summer with Fall Out Boy, Weezer, The All American Rejects, Taking Back Sunday, Chester French and Asher Roth. Blink’s Mark Hoppus and FOB’s Pete Wentz have teamed up to give away limited edition Blink/FOB usb drives loaded with uber exclusive content, causing fans all over the world to get all stirred up for these Octodrives.
Members of Forever the Sickest Kids and We The Kings’ crew were involved in an altercation with police in Philadelphia, PA. There were definitely accusations of police brutality. I hope they’re okay and I wish those guys the best.
As reported earlier, All Time Low‘s next album will be titled Nothing Personal. The band (now in Japan) recently did some filming (for an MTV promo & maybe a music video?) and fans are getting a glimpse at the new album art.
Sing It Loud (now in the UK) released a video for their song “Don’t Save Me.”
VersaEmerge also have a newish video for their song “Past Praying For.”
Weezer covered MGMT‘s “Kids” and Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face” at some T-Mobile party (That Blink-182 also performed at).
Cobra Starship released their lastest single, “Good Girls Go Bad” featuring Leighton Meester of Gossip Girl fame. The track is off of the upcoming album, Hot Mess, which is due out in August.
Also be sure to check out the Gregory Brothers’ (incl. Michael Gregory) Auto-Tune the News. They’ve been the talk of the blogging town and have also been mentioned on some late night and morning TV shows.
Ok thoses updates have me exhausted. PHEW. Follow me @dtra and I’ll get back with more updates, including an extensive list of summer concerts for the Washington, DC Metropolitan area.

Allhiphop.com reported that emcee Asher Roth was involved in stopping a bomb scare on an airplane today. According to the website, the incident occurred on a flight from Atlanta to LAX. A struggle broke out between a flight attendant and with a man who claimed to have a bomb. The subject was subdued by passengers, including Roth and bassist Chris Llewellyn.
I briefly referenced Roth and his performance in my post about the mtvU Woodie Awards. I failed to mention that he apparently also fights crime. According to Roth’s Wikipedia entry, he was recently named one of Hip Hop’s Top 10 Freshmen of 2009 by XXL magazine. Meanwhile, his debut album is set to be released in March of this year. For more on this story, check out this article I found from MTV News while writing this post.

Howdy blogosphere. Okay so I know the mtvU Woodie Awards were almost a month ago, but I like rocking out. I also like All Time Low. So heres a video of All Time Low’s live performance of “Dear Maria, Count Me In.” Watch for when frontman Alex Gaskarth chucks his guitar across the stage at 2:01.
It was a night of cool and crazy collaborations, beginning with the show’s opener, featuring The Cool Kids and Asher Roth performing “Delivery Man.” Among others, Q-Tip dropped in to team up with Lykke Li on her rendition of A Tribe Called Quest’s “Can I Kick It?”, Chromeo added some vocoder action to Vampire Weekend‘s “The Kids Don’t Stand a Chance,” and Naeem Juwan from Spank Rock took the stage to accompany Santorock on “Shove It.”
